I'm a full-stack software engineer - most of my development has been focused on enterprise web applications and persistence. I've worked with relational, columnar, and graph databases as well as a strong emphasis on Lucene-based distributed repositories. Java and Python are my languages of preference but I'm always trying to expand my horizons.
I like getting disparate technologies to work together efficiently. My preferred development style borrows heavily from agile and test-driven development.
I work at Zuora as a member of the Core Platform Services group focused on designing and building Java microservices. I'm also on the API Gateway and API Proxy teams utilizing NGNIX/Kong technologies.
Before that, I worked 5 years at Semantic Research, Inc.
as a Senior Software Engineer and lead the server-side effort for
our sensors web application since 2011. I was also a member of Product
team working on our enterprise analytics offering. I served 8 years in the US Navy as a Naval Flight Officer flying in the E-2C Hawkeye. I've previously worked at Bitlocker (an online database startup which went out of business), Continuous Computing Corporation (a high availability HW/SW company), and Search123 (a PPC search engine acquired by ValueClick).
I earned my Master of Engineering, Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder via the Be Boulder Anywhere program in May 2016 (course list). My Bachelor of Science, Computer Science is from Virginia Tech.
I live in beautiful San Diego and golf enough to maintain a 12 (or thereabouts) handicap but not enough to improve.
